ABOUT Me

After growing up in a New Jersey suburb,  I graduated from Syracuse University in 1992 with a degree in textile and print design, which I put to use at various jobs in the Garment Center in New York City.  Twelve years later, with the decline of the textile industry in the U.S., I found myself unemployed.  Due to my “availability” I was hired by a friend for what was to be a one-day job merchandising the NYC showroom for a well-known clothing, bedding and table-wear manufacturer.

During that serendipitous"one-day job", I found I loved working with product, and my friend  saw not only my intuitive skills in merchandising but also my potential in a sales role.  Shortly thereafter, I began working full time as the NY Showroom manager for that company, April Cornell/Cornell Trading, handling the merchandising of the showroom, sales appointments and trade show work.  My role at April Cornell evolved to where I eventually became a road-rep traveling the Mid-Atlantic territory to present the line to customers.

After working at April Cornell for almost 4 years, I was hired by Zutano, Inc., a cheery and popular baby clothing company, as their NY Showroom manager, again handling merchandising, sales, and working trade shows in NY and at their various other showrooms around the country.  After 4 years in that role,  Zutano then asked me to become an independent representative working from home and on the road covering the Mid-Atlantic territory with their line.

Not long after I embarked on my independent pursuit, I began to take on additional lines to represent.    I’m thrilled with my current selection which includes, organic layette, both fleece and faux fur coats, play clothes, the coolest sunglasses, organic pajamas, swimsuits made of recycled plastic bottles,  Austrian-made flannel baby blankets, classic embroidered and appliqued girls dresses, colorful fleece booties, hats and mittens, and trend-setting, stylish, sophisticated girls and boys clothing collections.

I work from my home office in New Vernon, New Jersey, and I meet customers each season either at their respective stores, at mini shows that I set up at hotels, or at Trade Shows in New York.   I also do quite a bit of sales work via phone, and email using line sheets and online tools.

I was married in 2010 to my husband Mike, and I’m mom to two lovely daughters, Arwen, age 10, and Averre age 8.
